Yes, it was purely a political move for gain. I did not see any improvement other than in Hyderabad or Warangal. This is my personal view on state separation. One thing, though: we did not cultivate personal clashes other than political ones.

My cousin is a distinct collector in Telangana (and working in Telangana / United AP for almost thirty years). The feedback I got is, formation of Telangana allowed many times resources channeled to the residents of the state which wasn’t the case before. Most ministers and often the chief ministers were from Andhra or Rayalaseema so there was barely any representation in key decisions. Since formation of Telangana, there’s a lot more emphasis on rural Telangana (I personally witnessed the benefits of Bagheeratha, etc programs). 

So without debating on the merits of the reasons for separate state, it’s easy to admit and accept that separate state has been good for residents of Telangana.

You missed the main point. That, as Hyderabad was ruled by Nijams the people of that region(Talangana) have not exposed to proper education not only English education the common education too. As we know rulers just forced thier religion on to the people, internally they are fighting those battles (reference through movie Razakars). So they need so one to run the government and not many people are there to do it. This is the one the biggest reason why Telangana is merged into AP

1) fazal ali committee (SRC) recommended merging of maratha region with maharastra,kannada speaking regions with karnataka but did NOT recommend merging telangana with AP and the word telangana was been in use for centuries

basic reason for telangana agitation- everytime a compromise or agreement is made for united state,Andhra leaders didn't follow it just because they had brute majority. Rayalaseema too is made of 5 districts. Kurnool, tirupati, anantapur, cudappah and Bellary. It was merged with Andhra, and mineral rich bellary went to KK and whole rayalaseema now hasn’t recieved much attention for progress since then as maximum power and money is from coastal andhra

Ok honest opinion. 

1. I have families in both states, but after formation of Telangana, farmers benefited a lot. All those new reservoirs have turned lakhs of acres of barren land into farming land. This wouldn’t have happened if the state wasn’t separated.

2. New districts were created, previously people had to travel so far to visit any district headquarters but now it’s more convenient.

3. KCR genuinely cared about farmers ensured their basic needs were met.

Above are the good things that i personally experienced.

Below are bad things that I personally witnessed.
 
1. Too much power was with BRS and that led to lot of corruption, land mafia and land kabza by local leaders and rowdies in Hyderabad.

2. No job postings for more than 8 years.

3. Government employees salaries weren’t on time.

Coming to Andhra Pradesh,

After separation, there should have been a better support from central government for the development of the state. 

Establishment of capital should have been done without any political agenda.

Leaders divided people on caste and regional based politics and it’s a shit show now. If someone questions TDP on any policies, only response I see is “Mee Jagan cheyaledha ?” or vice versa. People forgot the real meaning of democracy. 

People of both state need to understand that politicians  are here to make generational wealth. They don’t care if you supported them in any argument with your friend or a stranger in Reddit.

I got so disappointed when i got to know that AP is the only state with zonal system for BTech admissions. Imagine a guy from rayalaseema who wants to study in hyderabad(pre 2014) or vizag for better education and life but can’t get the seat easily as he would be non local in his own fucking state.

I guess this has something to do Andhra-Telangana quarrels.
